Green energy, solar-and-wind, electric car, and we’re confused?

Some people said solar-and wind energy and electric cars are good for our environment, because they can reduce fossil fuels’ pollution and emissions. Others said non-carbon nuclear energy is good, but it’s been opposed by many activists for decades. So here are the questions: Does solar-and-wind energy and electric car cost-effective and green? Can solar-and-wind energy replace fossil fuels? If it only provides a small percentage of world energy and depends on huge subsidies, is it cheap and reliable? If electric car’s batteries need mining, manufacturing, and processing lithium, graphite, nickel, and rare earths, and they have huge environmental impact, is it still a smart move?
