My neighbor said she writes about sports, green life, scandals and bad law officers, her prediction is always dramatic; once her writing was accepted by a magazine because of its interesting stuff: it has a hero, a villain, a lot of funny moments which includes a fancy party that attracts bizarre guests, witty and fun people.
If you joined a day-trip, followed paths, saw a disappeared ruin or the place you wanted to see is a replica, but nowhere near as charming, you may still find your pleasure because you can sit there, feeling tired, eating something, drawing a parallel with the past, the present glamour.

Interesting post. People sometimes do get disappointed because so many places are changed just for getting more tourists so if some places where let you feel not as good as you expected, you may still learn something.
