Some people say in today’s world there are certain things difficult to judge, such as democracy, false information, and press freedom. Others said some Western journalists try to find truth and are wrongfully detained because Russia and China use social media to undermine democracy, to spread false information, and to use hostages to let Western countries see their citizens suffering. So here are the questions: Do those journalists charged with espionage in hostile countries love their enemy? Can Western countries ignore their citizens’ suffering and therefore not negotiate with bad guys?
